Historic Apartments in Paris,
Apartments on Top of Montmartre near the Sacre Coeur, in a Pedestrian
street, 2 rooms, 4sleeps
1. Description
of the apartment
2
charming and quiet rooms in the heart of High Montmartre, 100m from
the Sacre Coeur,
in the middle of the area of artists, small typical French restaurants
and entertainment. The apartment is fully furnished with 2 double
beds (4 occupants maximum, 5 on request) bathroom and kitchen on
a pedestrian street and stairs near the top of the hill.
TV, radio, all the cooking appliances etc.
As
all of our apartments in Paris, these apartments were totally renewed
with all modern comforts.
It is also maintained in a perfect status of cleanliness.
The building, from 19th century, is also renewed,
strictly respecting the style and techniques of the period when
it was built.
2.
Description of the street
: Rue Chappe,
The
Chappe street, on the left side of the building is for
pedestrians only between
the house and the Sacre Coeur basilica.
It is composed of typical
Montmartre staircases with trees and views overlooking
PARIS.
M.Chappe was the engineer, inhabitant of the
free commune of Montmartre, who invented
the mechanical telegraph. On the top of the street (3 min from
the apartment) there is a small Greek
open air amphitheater. Several meters
after, there is one of the most beautiful view points overlooking
the city. On the right side of the apartment
are the Sacre Coeur gardens, with the small cable car to
climb on the top of the hill with no effort.
3.
Description of the area
: Montmartre / Abbesses
The
building
is surrounded by the ateliers of artists and
their shops. Pablo Picasso, Salvadore
Dali and most of all, the famous impressionists
, dadaists, cubists .. worked in the vicinity of the building
. Whereas
it is situated in the middle of this very popular
tourist area, the street is very quiet. The area is full of monuments,
beautiful gardens, small narrow streets, scenic views overlooking
all of PARIS.
Apartments on the top of the hill will provide you the unique
opportunity to discover all these splendors,
with no crowds
and in the evening,
nearly every day, with a
permanent festive ambiance.
4. Paris under your feet
To
walk around, in the early morning, nearly alone, when the sunrise
sunlight is caressing these old and majestic facades, and the
views overlooking Paris are very spectacular, is one of our biggest pleasures.
To walk around in the evening will let you discover plenty of
open air restaurants, shops, piano bars, theatres, music halls,
concerts, open every day. Many artists give street plays. You
can meet people from all the countries, in this area, probably
more, than anywhere else on earth.
What I prefer is, one more time, the view overlooking Paris. At this time
of the day Paris is twinkling with millions of lights like a gigantic
diamond jewel. You can see The Eiffel Tower lights up the town with
its beacon and 20.000 flashing lamps, the Invalides
is displaying
its grand golden dome ?
We
love this place (you can probably feel it from my description).
We also are very lucky to live in this area. This very historical
area : High Abbesses, where the apartment is located, was recently
improved. The pedestrian zone in front
of the flat has been enlarged and the small bus, MontmartroBUS stopping on the nearest non-pedestrian
street, is now electric.
The
Metro: 300 m from home; the MontmartoBUS: 50 m from home; the small
Street Train: 100 m from home; all shops (laundry, grocery, bakery,
pharmacy ..) are 100m around. The cable car, "Le funiculaire"
:also 100m
